Two new DryFire products!
Wire-free on-gun system
DryFire gives you total freedom of gun movement because there are no cables connecting you gun to your PC or anything else - nothing to trip over!
There is a short two-way length of wire connecting the DryFire trigger switch to the laser unit under your barrel that fires a short pulse of invisible light when you press the trigger.
The optional wire-free system uses an infrared link (like your TV remote) to connect the trigger switch to the laser unit.
The laser unit (wired or wire-free) is clipped to your barrel with a plastic mount which is tightened in place with a screw.
The optional Magnetic Quick Mount speeds up the process of getting your gun ready for practice - and is great if you are shooting with friends or a squad when you may wish to move the on-gun DryFire components from one gun to another.
simulates clay shooting - with options for game, rifle and pistol shooting.
improves your scores and saves you money.
allows you to practice in the comfort of your own home using your own gun. See our article on "What you need".
provides targets travelling through the same angles, and at the same speed, as clays outdoors.
provides a level of feedback that is impossible outdoors. Not just hit or miss - but exactly where your shot pattern went in relation to the clay: in front, behind, above or below - accurate to the nearest fraction of an inch.
requires the same skills as outdoors: prepare, mount, acquire, swing, shoot - no matter which technique you use.
has been used by club, regional, national and international champions since it was invented in 2001.
is perfect for those wet, cold, miserably days when you can't get to the shooting ground.
is great for setting up an informal competition with shooting friends in your own home.
you select the discipline and target you want (or a full round).
you take up position facing your kill zone directly in front of you.
you raise your gun and swing back to your hold point.
you call "Pull".
you acquire the target.
you start your swing.
you use your favourite technique: maintained lead, swing through, "bum, belly, beak, bang" etc.
you press the trigger when you have the right sight picture.
you hear the "bang".
you follow through.
you lower your gun.
you glance at the screen to see exactly where your shot pattern went in relation to the clay.
Sound familiar?
Everything is exactly the same as at the shooting ground - except the last step - you get a level of feedback (behind, in front, above, below) that is impossible to get outdoors!
Cost saving
As well as providing accurate feedback after every shot. DryFire can save you a fortune in cartridge, clay and travel costs.
It is easy to shoot 100 targets every evening with DryFire and, as we all know, the more you practise, the better you get!
Videos
Notes about the first video
It was made by Tom Ridge, our distributor in the USA. (He is wearing a DryFire cap!)
It was made some time ago - we must do a more up-to-date one!
Non-shooters may think this is like watching paint dry! Clay shooters will see immediately how useful it is for intensive practice and accurate feedback.
Tom is using the laser targets version of DryFire along with version 4 software. He has a canvas background pinned to the wall for a little more realism. We are currently on version 5 which offers laser targets and the option to use a PC data projector to project backgrounds and computer generated clays.
He has fixed a miniature trap house to the canvas so he can set his hold point before taking each target. For shooting skeet he has cutouts fixed at the ends of the canvas to represent the high and low house.
The "dummy" you can see in the muzzle is not longer required. Our wired or wire-free systems clip under the barrel of the shotgun.
Tom talks of an "acoustic "trigger. This was used on shotguns which use recoil to set the trigger for the second shot. "Mechanical" triggers set the trigger mechanically for the second shot. Neither are relevant with our optional TS22 or infrared trigger switches which work with all forms of trigger
Tom physically moves from one station to another during a round. This is not necessary (he just likes to do it!) because DryFire brings the targets to you - you don't have to move!
Tom breaks the gun after some targets. This is not necessary - again, he likes to do it!
Note how he works methodically through a complete rounds of American Trap - looking back for feedback after every target. Note how the screen shows exactly where the shot pattern went in relation to the clay.
The second video was made by Aislin Jones, a young champion skeet shooter, and she shows how she uses DryFire in less than ideal conditions at home!
She is using the older version of the DryFire gun assembly with the red "dummy" in the muzzle.
